Who We Are
We are the Care Professionals Register—a national body committed to recognising, supporting, and raising the profile of those who work in care.
Our Purpose
We exist to champion care professionals and the vital work they do every day. We aim to build pride in the care workforce, improve standards, and help ensure that everyone receiving care is supported by skilled, compassionate, and recognised professionals.
Our Vision
A world where care is valued as a skilled, respected, and professional career—and where everyone in care is empowered to thrive.
Our Values
- Respect – We honour the dedication and dignity of care work and the people who do it.
- Support – We stand behind care professionals, offering guidance, development, and recognition.
- Trust – We uphold high standards to promote confidence in the care workforce.
Collaboration – We work with individuals, employers, and organisations to build a stronger care sector together.
Who We Serve
We serve everyone working in care in England—whether in social care, home care, residential services, or community support. Our register is open to all care professionals who share our commitment to quality and professionalism.
We also serve:
- People receiving care – by giving them greater trust in those who support them.
- Employers – by helping identify professionals who meet clear standards.
- The public and policymakers – by promoting visibility and accountability in the sector.
Our Team
We are a diverse group of care sector experts, advocates, and professionals, united by a shared belief in the value of care. From frontline experience to policy and training, our team brings together the knowledge and passion needed to drive positive change.
A Register Built With and For the Workforce
The Care Professionals Register was created by NACAS in partnership with the Institute of Health & Social Care Management and engagement with the care workforce, and shaped by their voices. Everything we do is informed by the real experiences, challenges, and aspirations of care professionals across the country.
We believe that care is more than a job—it's a vocation. And those who deliver it deserve recognition, respect, and real support.
That’s who we are.
